337.NEWS is an independent publication covering Southwest Louisiana.

The publication focuses on local government, public records, real estate, land, development, business, housing, infrastructure, market data and other stories where the underlying records deserve a closer look.

A meeting agenda can be a story.

So can a deed, contract, court filing, permit, parcel, transaction, dataset or line item buried inside a public document.

337.NEWS is interested in what those records show, how different pieces connect, and what they mean for the people who live and work here.

Coverage includes Calcasieu, Beauregard, Vernon, Allen and Jefferson Davis parishes, along with surrounding Southwest Louisiana communities.

337.NEWS was launched in August 2026 by Dalton Barron.

The goal is not to publish the most stories.

The goal is to publish useful local reporting and analysis that leaves readers knowing something they probably did not know before.

That means looking beyond press releases, social media posts and the first version of a story when the underlying documents suggest there is more to understand.

It is not owned by a newspaper chain, political organization, real estate brokerage, government agency or advertising network.

Editorial decisions are made independently based on the reporting, available evidence and relevance to Southwest Louisiana.

Some reporting may involve subjects connected to Dalton Barron's work as a licensed Louisiana real estate agent. When that professional role creates a material conflict of interest or is relevant to how a story should be understood, it will be disclosed.
