Southwest Louisiana real estate site shifts away from automated property pages to build a continuously updated local property knowledge base.

LAKE CHARLES, La. — August 20, 2026 — 337.Homes is being rebuilt around a different idea: instead of trying to become another place to search listings, the site is becoming a locally focused real estate wiki for Southwest Louisiana.

The new 337.Homes is designed to document the questions, risks, terminology, programs and local conditions that can affect property ownership across the region.

That includes subjects such as rural acreage, flood risk, insurance, property access, surveys, private roads, servitudes, septic systems, utilities, financing programs, relocation, inherited property and the differences between buying inside and outside municipal boundaries.

The change represents a deliberate move away from the large collection of automated and programmatic pages previously published on the site.

Less automation. More local knowledge.

Major real estate portals are already very good at showing consumers what is for sale.

337.Homes is being rebuilt around what often comes next:

What do I need to know before I buy it?

A piece of land may appear affordable until access, clearing, utilities, drainage and wastewater are considered.

A house may look like a strong value until insurance availability, roof age or flood history changes the economics.

A Lake Charles mailing address may describe property outside the Lake Charles city limits.

A driveway visible from the road may not answer whether legal access has actually been established.

Those are not problems that can always be answered by a listing feed.

They require research.

Built around Southwest Louisiana

The new site is organized as an interconnected knowledge base rather than a traditional blog.

Readers will be able to move between local places, parishes and property topics as those subjects relate to one another.

A guide about buying acreage in Beauregard Parish, for example, may connect directly to information about surveys, legal access, septic systems, private wells, flood risk, mineral rights and specific communities such as Ragley or Longville.

Likewise, information about Moss Bluff can connect to Calcasieu Parish, flood and insurance issues, acreage, utilities and homebuying due diligence.

The goal is to create a growing body of local property research where each new page adds context to the information already published.

Not just another real estate blog

The project is being built more like a living reference library.

Content is organized around several major areas, including:

• land and acreage
• buying and property due diligence
• selling and property ownership
• flood, insurance and resilience
• financing and homebuyer assistance
• relocation
• commercial and investment property
• local market and economic intelligence
• Southwest Louisiana communities and parishes

The site will also continue to include practical tools and calculators where they help readers evaluate a real estate decision.

Existing research is being rebuilt, not simply discarded

337.Homes previously contained a large number of programmatically generated pages.

As part of the rebuild, those pages are being reviewed alongside historical Google Search Console data.

Pages and subjects that have already demonstrated search visibility are being evaluated for recreation inside the new knowledge base, while thin or duplicative pages can be consolidated or removed.

The intent is not to preserve old pages simply because they exist.

It is to preserve useful information and search demand while replacing weaker pages with more complete local resources.

A different role for a real estate website

337.Homes is operated by Southwest Louisiana real estate agent Dalton Barron of Real Broker, LLC.

Barron said the site is being developed around the questions that tend to matter after someone gets beyond the initial search for a property.

“Anyone can pull up a map and find a house or a piece of land,” Barron said. “The harder part is understanding what you are actually looking at. Access, insurance, drainage, utilities, restrictions, surveys and local jurisdiction can completely change whether a property makes sense.”

The site is not intended to replace professional inspections, surveys, title work, legal advice or other specialized services.

Instead, 337.Homes is being developed as a starting point for understanding the issues buyers, sellers and property owners may need to investigate.

The wiki is now being expanded

The new structure is already being implemented, with additional Southwest Louisiana research being prepared for publication.

Early focus areas include Beauregard and Calcasieu parishes, rural land and acreage, flood and insurance issues, property due diligence, financing resources and community-specific buyer guidance.
